My parting shot...

Ok, I'm packing things up, getting ready to fly soon, but I just saw this and had to share:

(from In a follow-up to last week's story, Mike Rowe has settled with Microsoft for an Xbox, and msdn subscription, certification and a flight to Redmond. I'm hoping for a small Polynesian island in return for my anti-viagra site,, if you're reading, Bill.

That's all for now, I'll post again when I'm able!

Ok... I KNEW this was going to happen...

I have to go to Romania. The project I originally started with this company, and has been dragging it's feet for MONTHS... and that I was BUMMED about that I wasn't going to be able to see completed in Romania... in the last two weeks before I go on leave, I'm going up there for the final phase:training the customer.

I'm excited about this, and glad I get to see it through to the end. At the same time, it really screws things up here for me. I had a ton of things to wrap up here before I left for a month. Now I've got to compress it into two days.

This is going to be fun... right?

I'll post more when I know more details.

Love 2 all!

Been a while...

... thought I'd put up a little C&H for you!

More later!

Ok... it's official...

Microsoft has gone crazy...

Basically, 17 yr old Mike Rowe started a website, and got a domain name: First Microsoft offered him $10 for all the effort he had put into his business (biz cards, advertising, etc...), then Mike made the mistake of asking for $10,000. So now they're suing him, claiming that it was his intention all along to sell it to them, which amounts to "name infringement" in the 25 page letter he got from the lawyers.

I know, I know... you waited all this time for news about me, and I'm telling you about some kid and his legal troubles. Sorry, things have just been crazy around here lately, and since Hugh went back to the states, I've been very busy, especially considering that I'm leaving in 21 days!!!

wow... 3 weeks! To say that I'm anxious to start this next part of my life would be a huge understatement. I'm so used to the "Charlie Brown Syndrome" - things look good, and the ball gets pulled away right as I go to kick it - that I've been especially diligent lately. Not that I haven't already been acutely aware of my surroundings ... you very much NEED to know what's going on around you in an environment like this ... but that hasn't kept me from cranking it up a notch.

I'm really hoping to have time this week to fix up the website so I don't have to do anything with it when I get back to the states. Just post pictures!

Gotta run now, someone else just had an emergency... that's our job: Saving the World, One E-mail at a Time!

Love to all!

A new year, a new look for the website...

Ok, maybe this isn't a completely new look. I think I've used it before. I just thought it was time to make some changes here. I'll be tweaking this and adding all the neat add-ons over the next couple of days.

The countdown in on, only 32 days before I'm on my way home. And then a few weeks after that, a shiny new baby will be on HIS way home too. Needless to say, we're all very anxious to meet him.

I PROMISE to make every effort to get the picture thing fixed this weekend. I will coordinate with Shelley and get the account paid for so I can keep uploading stuff, and she can upload some of her new pictures too.

It's raining here, and I hate to think what all the industrial crap in the air mixing with the water is doing to us... Good thing she got at least ONE kid out of me before my exposure to the WONDERFUL Kuwait environment... Our next kid will probably glow in the dark... oh well, at least he (or she) will be easy to find at night.

That's all for now, more later!

Love to all! Welcome to 2004!

Happy New Year!

Well, another year has ended, and inevitably, a new one has begun. I really hope everyone spent their New Year's eve with their loved ones! Shelley and I spent it on the phone, vowing to never spend another New Year's Eve apart...

Needless to say, 2003 was a turning point in my life. A new job, travelling the distant lands, a child on the way. Finally getting a decent salary, and able to get my head above water. 2004 will be very exciting as well, and I wish everyone the happiness you deserve!

I'm also going to strive to strengthen my connections to all my friends and family. This website is a good start, but I feel like I just don't stay in touch with people as well as I should. I promise I'll work on that, so please help me out here, will ya?

Love to all! I'm going to be making some changes to the website here, to reflect the new year!
