3 days left...

Only 3 days left, and the movie will be out.. and my wife will be so relieved... She's endured so many years of me going on and on (and on .. and on) about Firefly. Serenity is here, and as happy as I am to see, I'm sure she'll be happier to see it gone...

... until the DVD, of course.

Anyway, I was just removing the double post from a couple days ago, and was checking out the Serenity website to see what they're doing to celebrate the countdown, and they've completely revamped it. It's INCREDIBLE! And I don't mean from a "Firefly fan/geekboy" perspective, but from an appreciation of the website design! I love Flash sites that are done well, and this qualifies. Check it out (make sure you've got Flash installed).

I also found a nice poster for my background:

3 more days people... DEAL WITH IT! :P

ummm... yeah.

Here's a few more news links...

Do you have any concept of how pissed I would have been if I had made it through two years living in Kuwait and been attacked by terrorists in FRANCE?

Sheesh...

Shelley would say, "I'm geeking out"

Amidst all the other things I'm juggling this morning, I've been surfing my usual geek websites. I found a couple things that my fellow geeksters out there might find interesting.

First, has anyone been watching the new Battlestar Galactica? This has become my second favorite sci-fi series ... I don't need to tell you what the first is, do I? Anyway, for those of you that remember the original BSG, and have any doubts of the casting (ie, a female as Starbuck), I can assure you that your concerns are needless. I can't describe it in words better than this picture does:

Someone was using that for their signature on a message board, and I think it captures the essence perfectly. Don't get me wrong Dirk, you were my favorite character in the original, but the new Starbuck is filling your shoes just fine... Come on, Richard get on board... can't you?

My next discovery was a great interview on a website that I'd never visited. It was linked from some Firefly group email, and I visited it out of curiousity. I'm glad I did, because it's got some great info from most the cast and the creator. Check it out!

Ok, that's all for now!

Slowly getting there...

We're slowly getting our lives back to some thing resembling normalcy. I'm sorting and uploading the photos, but that's still going to take some time. So far about 100 photos uploaded, with about 30 actually being put up in the album. I'll continue to get them uploaded and sorted all week. There are over 800 photos to go through, and some are duplicates are just not as clear as they looked on the LCD of my camera. I'm also hoping to actually identify most of the things we're looking at in the picture, so you can get an idea of what we saw. A lot of things we just took pictures of because they looked important enough... and planned on looking up later.

Since we've been back I've been asked several times "How was Paris?"... and I just can't find the right words to describe it... I guess I'd have to say that my favorite part was spending some much needed "us" time with Shelley. With all the stuff going on in our lives, we don't get enough of that... Even if she spent most the time making goofy faces:Pixagogo direct photo link

I love that picture!

So now I'm counting down the days until Serenity is released. I've already seen the movie, true... but now I want to see it in an actual "go to the movies" sense... I'm really more anxious to see how it does in the box office. Fingers crossed that it's a huge hit and the story can continue!

Love to all!

Juste pour vous, Kay

We're flying out in a couple of hours, but I just wanted to get this picture up before we left:

Oooo la la part deux!

We're heading out for our last full day in Paris. We're headed to the Louvre this morning, then planning visiting some graves and catacombs in the afternoon. A nice dinner, then sleeping late in the morning.

Yesterday we got to Castle Versailles, then Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. The day before was spent at the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and Planet Hollywood... Several other things I'm sure I'm forgetting, but I'll chronicle everything later.

No time to upload pictures right now, but I'll do it later tonight (hopefully!)

Ooo la la

Just have enough time to throw up some quick photos... they're completely unedited, so I hope they're not the nudes...

Connection is unbearably slow on a shared connection, so that's all I've had time to upload so far... keep checking back!

Made it!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we made it to Paris early this morning. It's going on 6pm here right now, so we've had time to get something to eat and walk around a bit, and take a nap so we can have some energy for tonight. We can see the Eiffel Tower from our hotel, just not from our room. I'll get some pictures posted tonight!

Love to all!

Counting down...

Well, yet another countdown in my life. We're going to be flying out in the next 24 hours, and will be gone for about a week. I'm taking just enough tech toys to get my email and post the occasional picture to the blog. I'm sure we'll get a ton of pictures, so check back over the next couple of weeks!

Shelley's mom got into town last night, and is all set to spend a week with Ryan. We'll be giving her a crash course in Ryanese tonight, so she can at least understand what he's talking about half the time. His vocabulary gets bigger every day, and is just amazing to us. He's saying "love you" now, though it's a little muffled.

Nothing more to report really at this time. I apologize for my lack of posts and pictures lately. I just haven't had much going on, other than the mundane everyday things ... don't take that the wrong way though. I'm perfectly content with that! My life has been enough of a whirlwhind in the past couple of years. I'm really enjoying the downtime.

Love to all!
